JENKINS
Carroll R. Jenkins, 76, of Van Wert, died Sunday afternoon, April 11, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born May 23, 1933, in
Van Wert, the son of the late Erastus Marion and Corabelle (Anderson) Jenkins. A
special friend, Mary Murphy,
survives
in Van Wert.
Other survivors include four children, Cindy (Mike) Wamsley of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Greg (Becky) Jenkins, Chris (Bill) Spoor and Sandy (Ralph) Eversole, all of Van Wert; a daughter-in-law, Jan Jenkins of Van Wert; a brother, Albert Anderson of Van Wert; six sisters, Betty Lewis, Florine Ruskaup, Helen Eberle and Velma (Raymond “Hap”) Geisman, all of Van Wert, Josephine “Jody” Tindall of Frankfort, Ind., and Alberta (Harold) Welker of Marietta; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A son, Rick Jenkins; four brothers, Leo, Robert, Russell and Roger Jenkins; and a sister, Jessie Jenkins; and three grandchildren, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Revs. Paul W. Miller, Tim Burden and Steve Savage officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
