LEININGER

Gene Leininger, 90, of Rockford, died at 10:15 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010, at Celina Manor.

He was born December 29, 1919, in Mercer County, the son of the late Samuel Jacob and Lela (Myers) Leininger. On December 24, 1943, he married Ruth LaVaun (Clay) Leininger, who preceded him in death on October 2, 2006.

Survivors include a daughter, LaVonna Clay of Celina; one sister, Genevieve Siebert of Rockford; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with the Rev. Ray Daniels and Pastor Chip Steffy officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
