EVANS

V. Irene Evans, 94, of Delphos and formerly of Ridge Township, Van Wert County, died at 6:20 a.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the Sarah Jane Living Center in Delphos.

She was born June 24, 1915, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Jesse and Leona (Smith) Brown. On November 16, 1936, she married Raymond Evans, who preceded her in death on October 19, 1974.

Survivors include four children, J. David (Barbara) Evans and Robert (Margaret) Evans, both of Van Wert, and Wilbur (Judy) Evans and Carlene Gerdeman, both of Delphos; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Two children, Margaret “Maggie” Kramer and Larry Evans; two sons-in-law, Irvin Gerdeman and Pud Kramer, and a stepbrother, Wilbur Brown, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 28, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, at the funeral home.
