RENNER

Robert R. Renner, 68, of Van Wert, died at home peacefully at 3:16 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009, surrounded by his family.

He was born June 6, 1941, in Delphos, the son of the late Richard and Imelda (Ricker) Renner. On July 23, 1966, he married Louise (Klaus) Renner in St. Patrick’s Church in Spencerville, and she survives in Van Wert.

Mr. Renner retired from American Electric Power in 2001 after 36 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1963-1969. He was a dedicated father and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and farm with his brother. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 6034 in Van Wert.

In addition to his wife, survivors include six children, Carolyn (Tom) Wolbert of Lucinda, Pa., Dennis (Angie) Renner, Brian (Stephanie) Renner, Brent (Krisi) Renner and Cathy (Matt) Renner, all of Van Wert, and Diana (Tom) Stachler of Ohio City; nine grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren, Becca, Jessica, and Robby Wolbert, Kyle, and Kara Doseck, Brandon and Annie Renner, Kayla Stachler, and Carter, Emerson and Jayden Renner; a brother, Kenneth (Carol) Renner of Delphos; and three sisters, Angie (Don) Hoehn and Arlene (Ron) Wagner, both of Delphos, and Doris Sturgeon of Lima.

A granddaughter, Hope Renner, also preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 6, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Father Mike Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point, with graveside military rites performed by American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, at Brickner’s Funeral Home in Van Wert, where a rosary service will be held at 8 that evening.

WILL

Rita V. Will, 84, of Delphos, died at 6:17 p.m. Sunday, August 2, 2009, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born November 5, 1924, in Delphos, the daughter of the late John and Emma (Metzger) Osting. On May 25, 1946, she married Bernard H. Will, who preceded her in death on August 21, 2000.

Survivors include four sons, Bernard (Linda) Will Jr. of Mt. Zion, Ill., Mike Will of Mission Viejo, Calif., Tom (Lori) Will of Cridersville and Bob (Susan) Will of Delphos; four daughters, Beverly Will of Sylvania, Cindy (Gene) Honigford of Delphos, Marilyn (Phil) Hoersten of Ottoville and Janet (Darren) Sroufe of Booneville, Ind.; 24 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Barb Wannemacher; two brothers, Art and Sylvester Osting; and two sisters, Anne and Martha Osting, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Melvin Verhoff officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery in Delphos.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.

Preferred memorials: Delphos Senior Citizens or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
