WOODS

Charlie James Woods, 88, of Convoy, died at 9:17 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Convoy Care Center.

He was born June 17, 1921, in Ohio City, the son of the late Halder Baugest and Roxie Marie (Clouse) Woods. On June 16, 1945, he married Lola Marie (Schaadt) Woods, who survives in Convoy.

Other survivors include two sons, Donald E. Woods of Convoy and Bruce Woods of Sacramento, Calif.; a daughter, Linda Boucher of Ellijay, Ga.; five sisters, Blanche Phillips of Van Wert, Luella McHugh of Ohio City, Mary (Larry) Tindall of Reno, Nev., Evelyn Kichenbauer of Coldwater and Ilo (Lester) Ebright of Celina; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Three brothers, Elmer, Eugene and Williams Woods, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 24, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Michael Saylor of Redeemer Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, August 23, at the funeral home.
