ADAMS
Mildred Eva (Tracy) Adams, 96, of Convoy, died at 2:30 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born January 2, 1913, in Tully Township,
Van
Wert County, the daughter of the late Walter and Frances (Rummel) Tracy. On
June 27, 1936, she married Gerald O. Adams, who preceded her in death on May 3,
1983.
Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and an 80-year member of Sugar Ridge Church of God. She was active in the Women’s Society of the church for many years and a member of the Tully Township Loyalty League. She was a 1931 graduate of
Survivors include a daughter, Janice E. Kohn of Ohio City; one grandson, Brent (Lori) Kohn of Ohio City; five great-grandchildren, Travis Kohn of Muncie, Ind., Madison Kohn and Emma Kohn, both of Ohio City, Lindsey R. Muhlenkamp of Cleveland and Dylan L. Muhlenkamp of Fredericktown; two nephews, Jon (Judi) Hall and Bob (Mary Ann) Hall, both of Convoy; a niece, Beth (Eric) Knisely of Dexter, Mich.; four great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
A son-in-law, Jerry D. Kohn; one sister, Mary Josephine Hall; ad a granddaughter, Brenda Sue Kohn, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 30, at Sugar Ridge Church of God in Convoy, with Pastor Steve Waterman officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, August 29, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Sunday at the church.
Preferred memorials: Sugar Ridge Church of God or CHP Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

SCHUMM
Esther F. Schumm, 82, of Van Wert, died at 7:55 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born January 10, 1927, in Van Wert
County,
the daughter of the late Martin and Eva Fern (Hurless) Schmid. On September 4,
1948, she married Elmer J. Schumm, who preceded her in death on March 21, 1963.
Mrs. Schumm retired as treasurer of Van Wert City Schools. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert, was a member of the Ladies Aid Society of the church and was very active in many other areas of the church.
Survivors include three sons, Allen (Sue) Schumm of New Haven, Ind., and Larry (Lee) Schumm and Stan (Cindy) Schumm, both of Van Wert; a brother, Doyle “Dudley” (Jean) Schmid of Glenmore; one sister, Marilyn “Jo” (Max) Frye of Van Wert; nine grandchildren, Amy Mock, Andrew Schumm, Adam Schumm, Lanna Pollock, Luke Schumm, Joshua Schumm, Missy Schumm, Amanda Schumm and Kyle Schumm; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 31, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Michael Saylor officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, August 30, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
