FLICKINGER

Lois Flickinger, 88, of Van Wert, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, August 3, 2009, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born September 4, 1920, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Fred and Laura (Richey) Flickinger.

Miss Flickinger was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

Survivors include a brother, Mahrl Flickinger of Van Wert; one sister, Miriam Bandy of Lima; and nieces and nephews.

A brother, Dr. Miles F. Flickinger, and one sister, Irma Flickinger, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 7, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

BAKER

Clifford L. Baker, 73, of Paulding, died Monday, August 3, 2009.

He was born December 19, 1935, in Paulding county, the son of the late Lester C. and Helen Mary (Yearling) Baker. He married Sharon Ann (Smith) Baker, who survives in Convoy.

Other survivors include two sons, Buddy Ray Baker of Portsmouth and Newlyn Baker of Salt Lake City, Utah; four daughters, Peggy Diaz of Houston, Texas, Kim (Jerry) Shaffer of Grover Hill, Misty Baker of Decatur, Ind., and Nicole (Dale) Bolenbaugh of Van Wert; a sister, Maxine Baker of Paulding; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Russell Baker; and two brothers, Richard and Homer Baker.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with Pastor Dale Bolenbaugh officiating. Burial will be in Cooper Cemetery in Paulding, with graveside military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 587.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at the funeral home.
