GERARDOT
Charles J. Gerardot, 81, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at Covington Manor in Fort Wayne.
He was born April 19, 1928, in Allen County,
Ind., the son of the late Julin and
Cathryn (Speith) Gerardot. On September 21,
1960, he married Natalie I. (Roberts) Gerardot, who preceded him in death on
July 22, 1988.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert (Betty) Gerardot and Edwin Gerardot, both of Fort Wayne; and two sisters, Mary Lee of Fort Wayne and Donna Egnor of Sumter, S.C.
A stepson, Vernon “Butch” Taylor; two brothers; and a sister, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Father Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both of Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

HOLTSBERRY
Patricia Ann (Mengerink) Holtsberry, 67, of Van Wert, passed away at 8:44 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2009, after a long and bravely fought battle against cancer.
Born January 3, 1942, the daughter of the late
Edward Will
iam
and Dorothy Virginia (Mumford) Mengerink, she grew up in Van Wert and graduated
from Van Wert High School, where she was particularly proud to have been part of
the accomplished band. She returned to Van Wert in 1984, having lived in
Germany, Fort Polk, La., and numerous other U.S. Army bases with her family, and
has made her home in Van Wert for the past 25 years.
She most recently made her living as a home health aide, lovingly caring for others, and that care was returned to her by the nurses and aides of Visiting Nurses and Private Duty Nurses throughout her illness and Hospice of Van Wert over the past few weeks.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 178, both in Van Wert.
Pat was proud to have raised three sons who mourn her passing: Mark Holtsberry of Baton Rouge, La., and Michael (Mary Beth) Holtsberry and Edwin (Sabrina Bailey) Holtsberry, both of Van Wert. She was a devoted grandmother and easily smiled when speaking of her grandchildren: Eric Hicks, Matthew Holtsberry, Meena Wise, Advijah Sargent and Abby Holtsberry.
She is survived by five brothers, Donald (Barbara) Mengerink, Roger (Carol) Mengerink, Larry (Diane) Mengerink and Kenneth (Karen) Mengerink, all of Van Wert, and Charles (Melanie) Mengerink of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and two sisters, Dorothy (Tim) Agler of Ohio City and Meredith High of Miamisburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Mengerink Jr., Robert Mengerink, and Franklin Mengerink, and three sisters, Joyce (Mengerink) Williams, Marilyn (Mengerink) Dempsey and Gloria (Mengerink) Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 8, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jay Nesselroad officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Friday, August 7, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Community Health Professionals-Hospice the Caring Way in Van Wert or Wesley United Methodist Church.
BRINKMAN
Mark Dennis Brinkman, 48, of Delphos, died Tuesday, August 4, 2009, at his residence.
He was born May 4, 1961, in Lima, the son of the late Raymond and Lucille (Stocklin) Brinkman. On August 9, 1980, he married Christine E. (DeWitt) Brinkman, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include a son, Elijah Brinkman of Delphos; four daughters, Danielle Brinkman, Eleisha (Marque) Gant, Brittany (Jeremy) Pence and Jade (Andrew) Teman, all of Delphos; two brothers, Kenneth Brinkman and Thomas (Melanie) Brinkman, both of Middle Point; two sisters, Linda (Stephen) Buzard of Delphos and Jill Brinkman of Columbus; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, August 7, at Christian Heritage Fellowship Church in Delphos.
There will be no visitation.
