ROEHM-MOHL
Fortress E. (Poling) Roehm-Mohl, 95, of Van Wert, died at 8:15 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2009, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
She was born April 17, 1914, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Noah and Bessie (Clayton) Poling. On June 23, 1940, she married Donald D. Roehm, who preceded her in death on August 5, 1944, in France while serving in the military. She married Harry D. Mohl on March 10, 1951, and he also preceded her in death on February 10, 2005.
Survivors include a son, Darius P. Mohl of Toomsboro, Ga.; two sisters, Pauline A. (Harold) Eddy and Alice N. (Dale) Hoover, both of Convoy; two sisters-in-law, LaDonna Poling of Convoy and Shirley Poling of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers, Doyle Poling (and wife, Orah), Marvin Poling and Maurice D. Poling, and two sisters, Fern Simmers (and husband Carey) and Frema Habegger (and husband Howard), also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
