PENDERGRAST
Doris M Pendergrast, 81, of Antwerp, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, December 21, 2009.
She was born July 17, 1928, in Lake County (Tiptonville), Tenn., the daughter of the late Alton and Dortha (Richardson) Williams. On August 19, 1944, she married James G Pendergrast, who survives. The Pendergrasts moved to the Antwerp area in 1947.
Mrs. Pendergrast was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlework, travel, bird watching and canning. She especially enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She was a former volunteer at the Paulding Senior Center.
In addition to her husband, survivors include three sons, Brooks (Linda) Pendergrast, James (Julie) Pendergrast and David (Elaine) Pendergrast, all of Antwerp; three daughters, Donna (John) Knippen of Delphos, Shelia Dailey of Woodburn, Ind., and Shelly (Brock) Howell of Cecil; a brother Charles E. Williams of Colorado Springs, Colo., 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Alton Williams, Richard Williams and Joshua Shelby Williams, who died in infancy, and a sister, Dorothy Sue Warner, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 24, at Paulding Church of Christ, with Pastor Everett Confer officiating. Burial will be in Maumee Cemetery in Antwerp.
The family will receive friends from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, at Dooley Funeral Home in Antwerp, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church
