GOLD

Leveta N. Gold, 97, of Van Wert, died at 11:10 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born January 10, 1912, in Utica, the daughter of the late Charles and Nellie (Rockwood) Nickel. She married the Rev. Joseph Miller Gold, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Laura (Wally) Purmort of Van Wert; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A brother, Russell Nickel, and one sister, Samaria Watts, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, December 12, at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Tom Steensma officiating. Private family services will later be held in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church.

Preferred memorials: Children’s program or the music program at First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert.

Arrangements were handled by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.
