Betty J. Kelly, 87, of Van Wert, died at 11:49 a.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born June 19, 1922, in Van Wert, the daughter of the late Byron “Jack” and LaVella (Grant) Bennett. On April 17, 1946, in Van Wert, she married Richard A. Kelly Sr., who preceded her in death on December 17, 2007.

Survivors include Ric (Nancy) Kelly of Van Wert and Karen Jean (Glenn) Wilkerson of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A grandson, Shane Wilkerson, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 11, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Will Haggis officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 10, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church or a charity of donor’s choice.
