JOHNSON

Jerry L. Johnson, 65, of Van Wert, died at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, Ind.

He was born April 24, 1944, in Van Wert, the son of Ona Mae (Sliger) Johnson, who survives in Van Wert, and the late Dennis C. Johnson. On August 13, 1967, he married Dea Marie (Thomas) Johnson, who also survives.

Other survivors include a son, Timothy Lee (Mindy) Johnson of Fort Wayne; one daughter, Jennifer Marie Gerold of Van Wert; a brother, Doyt F. (Nina) Johnson of Winchester, Ind.; four sisters, Bonnie L. (Tom) Fiedler and Beverly (Michael) Kantzer, both of Fort Wayne, Barbara K. (Jim) Buttermore of McComb and Deborah (Jerry) Gordon of Hoagland, Ind.; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, February 22, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, with Pastor W. Clark Williman officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 1-7 p.m. Sunday, February 21, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Preferred memorials: For his granddaughter, Kaylyn Marie Gerold, or the Ries Memorial at Calvary Evangelical Church.
