Helen Edwards Ortt, 93, of Van Wert, died at 11:12 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 29, 1916, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late John and Sarah Ann (Densel) Edwards. In 1947, she married George Jex, who preceded her in death. In 1971, she married Arthur Otto Bernard Ortt, who also preceded her in death, on February 19, 1976.

Survivors include two nieces, Marji (Bob) Long of Ohio City and Doris (Dean) Ley of Indiana.

Four brothers, Charles Melvin Edwards, Orval Henry Edwards, Lawrence Edwards and a brother who died in infancy, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 26, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Convoy.

The family will receive friends from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
