CARDER

Martha E. Carder, 96, of Delphos, died at 8:34 a.m. Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born June 15, 1913, in Ottoville, the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Gasser) Bensman. She married Lewis “Pat” Carder, who preceded her in death in 1987.

Survivors include two sons, Stanley (Judith) Carder of Elida and Tim (Bev) Carder of Lima; a daughter, Denna (Harold) Point of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Edy Carder; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Marlene Boyer; one son, Tom Carder; two brothers, Leonard and Lawrence Bensman; and one sister, Ann Rellinger, also preceded her in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, January 23, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Jacob Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in Delphos.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Friday, January 22, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
