JACKS

Dorothy Jacks, 91, of Van Wert, died at 11:40 a.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born November 1, 1918, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Hubert C. and Oma Jean (Coleman) DeMoss. She married Maynard R. Jacks, who preceded her in death on May 1, 1981.

Survivors include four children, Michael (Bonnie) Jacks of Cartersville, Ga., Carolyn (Tim) Owens of Venedocia, Kathleen (Burdette) Bolenbaugh of Van Wert, and Joyce (Mark) Donaldson of Allen, Texas; 10 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Four brothers, Hubert V. “Bee” DeMoss, Raymond DeMoss, Darrell DeMoss and Murray “Toby” DeMoss, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 25, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Jay Nesselroad officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, January 24, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
