EVANS
David John Evans, 91, of Van Wert, died at 1:21 p.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Van Wert Manor in Van Wert.
He was born July 24, 1917, in York Township, Van Wert County, the son of the late David Bebb and Hannah H. (Evans) Evans. On February 14, 1939, he married Grace Audrey (Miller) Evans, who preceded him in death on February 19, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcia (Jeff) Pollock of Van Wert; one daughter-in-law, Cherie Evans of Van Wert; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
A son, Gordon D. Evans, and one brother, Thomas L. Evans, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Wendy S. Pratt officiating. Burial will be in Venedocia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the funeral home.

MARTIN
Noah N. Martin, 1 year, of Delphos, died at 9:16 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born May 14, 2008, in Lima, the son of Brandy Davis and Brandon Martin, who both survive in Delphos.
Other survivors include maternal grandparents Lisa (Mike) Learned of Van Wert, Robert F. Davis of Van Wert and Jean (Kenny) Davis-Taylor; paternal grandparents Terry and Kathy Martin of Delphos; paternal great-grandparents, Diane and Denny Sias of Shawnee, John and Sue Lozzio of Illinois, Robert and Annie Wiener of Indian Lake and Emmett and Dorothy Martin of Wapakoneta; maternal great-grandparents, Betty L. Learned of Van Wert, Donna J. Davis of Lima and Leah Shaw of Van Wert; two brothers, Dakota and Christopher Burk, at home; a sister, Rebecca Burk, at home; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Great-grandparents Thomas Davis Sr., Dewey Shaw Jr., James Detterer, Peggy Detterer and Richard Learned also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Monday, July 20, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon at the funeral home.

CROSS
Helen Louise LaSeta Cross, 92, of Delphos, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Delphos.
She was born November 21, 1916, in Marion, the daughter of the late Joseph and Edna Mae (Rossolet) LaSeta. On November 8, 1936, she married James A. Cross, who preceded her in death on September 8, 1994.
Survivors include a son, Lt. Colonel (retired) Thomas J. (Jo Ann) Cross of Pikesville, Tenn.; two daughters, Judy A. (Darrell) Helms of Lima and Rebekah J. Miller of Lake Mary, Fla.; one brother, Frank (Lana Sue) LaSeta of Phoenix, Md.; a sister, Bonnie Lou (Clark) McQueary of Kokomo, Ind.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, Fredrick, John and James Clark, and five sisters, Mary Reed, Lela McKinney, Wilma Ruth Oakes, Barbara Reeder and Shirley Shook, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Delphos, with Rev. Bill Cronk and Rev. Ron Lumm officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, July 18, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos.

LINSCOTT
Stanley R. “Lucky” Linscott, 77, of Fort Jennings, died at 4:55 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Fort Haven Living Center in Fort Jennings.
He was born May 15, 1932, in Albuquerque, N.M., the son of the late Richard R. and Mary A. (Smith) Linscott. On October 18, 1961, he married Clara “Esther” McCampbell, who survives in Fort Jennings.
Other survivors include three daughters, Annetta (Chester) Steen of Derry, N.H., Donna (David) Kern of Richmond, Ind., and Marcia (Michael) Fiedler of Oakwood; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A sister-in-law, Flo McCampbell, and a brother-in-law, Harry McCampbell, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. Ron Bear officiating. Burial will be in College Corner Cemetery in Richmond, Ind., at 1 p.m. Monday, with military rites also performed at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at an hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
