Dorothy Jean Billieu Siders Geething, 84, of Van Wert, died at 1:05 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2009, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

She was born July 31, 1925, the daughter of the late George Washington and Lillian (Ross) Billieu. On April 9, 1945, she married Joseph William “Bill” Siders, who preceded her in death. On September 4, 1985, she married Doyle D. Geething, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include two children, Nancy Siders Henkle of Mercer, Pa., and BJ Billieu of St. Marys; two stepchildren, Maxine Geething (Tom) Stevens and Daniel (Barb) Geething, both of Van Wert; a brother, Walter (Nancy) Billieu; one sister, Miriam (Kenneth) Sealscott; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A brother, George Billieu; and three sisters, Edith Sullivan, Virginia Stowe and Ruby Matthews, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, August 3, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Dr. Jody Harr officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, August 2, at the funeral home.
