HELEN RUTH WITTUNG

Helen Ruth Wittung, 79, of Van Wert, died at 8:17 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, 2010, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born March 3, 1931, in Celina, the daughter of the late Ernest and Marie (Griggs) Burch. On March 27, 1960, she married Edwin P. Wittung, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three sons, Frederick E. (Patty) Wittung of Lima, Edwin P. (Lynne) Wittung Jr. of Lancaster and Marlin L. Wittung of Van Wert; and three grandchildren.

Two brothers, LeRoy Burch and Francis Burch, and a sister, Goldie Martin, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at Calvary Evangelical Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Carol Tumbleson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Saturday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Countryside Church of the Nazarene missions.
