KAREN S. (STEELE) COPPOCK

Karen S. (Steele) Coppock, 41, of Bowling Green and formerly of Dunkirk, died at 5:37 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.

She was born October 30, 1968, in Kenton, the daughter of James B. Steele, who survives in Dunkirk, and the late Shirley Ann (Tracy) Steele. On April 29, 1995, in Perrysburg, she married Eric Coppock, who also survives in Bowling Green.

Mrs. Coppock was currently the CEO of Steele Lynx Consulting Inc., a computer software consulting company. She was a graduate of Hardin Northern High School and received a degree in marketing research in 1991 and an MBA in 1992 from the University of Toledo. She attended First United Methodist Church in Kenton, supported the Presidents Circle of the Toledo Zoo, enjoyed travel and camping, was an avid reader, a staunch supporter of amateur auto racing, enjoyed being with her family and her cats and was known to many as a loving, caring and charitable person.

In addition to her father and husband, survivors include a brother, James M. (Connie) Steele of Van Wert; two sisters, Judith (Thomas Brown) Steele of Columbus and Lisa (Richard) Watkins of Williamsport; nieces and nephews Matthew Steele of Columbus, Molly Steele of Tiffin and Anna and Gabriel Watkins of Williamsport.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at First United Methodist Church in Kenton, with Pastor Peter Paige officiating. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Price Funeral Home in Dunkirk.

Preferred memorials: Bridge Hospice, Common Ground Camp Restoration of Dunkirk or Wood County Humane Society.

 

JOSHUA RYAN SCHNEIDER

Joshua Ryan Schneider of Paulding died shortly after birth on Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Survivors include his parents, Michael D. and Jodi D. (Ifft) Schneider of Paulding; three brothers, Joel, Lathan and Thad, and a sister, Lynelle, all at home; paternal grandparents Jim and Sandra Schneider of Fairbury, Ill.; maternal grandparents Larry and Shirley Ifft of Fairbury, Ill.; a maternal great-grandfather, Ellmer Ifft of Fairbury; and paternal great-grandparents, Earl and Esther Gerber of Forrest, Ill.

A brother, Levi John Schneider; maternal great-grandparents Noah and Emma Gerber and Emma Ifft; and paternal great-grandparents Al and Gladys Schneider, also preceded him in death.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at Dotterer Cemetery in Junction, with church clergymen officiating.

There will be no visitation.

ESTHER M. (COX) DEMPSEY

Esther M. (Cox) Dempsey, 95, of Van Wert, died at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Van Wert Manor in Van Wert.

She was born August 23, 1914, in Convoy, the daughter of the late Irvin and Amy (Painter) Cox. On December 24, 1932, she married John W. Dempsey, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1986.

Survivors include eight children, Donald (Sue) Dempsey of Convoy, Maurice (Mary Ellen) Dempsey of Virginia Beach, Va., Beverly (Larry) Schoonover, Gretna (Don) Stevens and Johnette Waltmire, all of Van Wert, Sandra Schwinnen of Defiance and Linda (Terry) Neer of Paulding; 43 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Three children, Helen Osting, Nellie Schabbing and Mary Dempsey; four brothers; and two sisters, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, at First Baptist Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals-Hospice, First Baptist Church or a charity of donor’s choice.
