ELSIE M. LONG
Elsie M. Long, 95, of Middle Point, died at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Van Wert Manor.
She was born January 7, 1915, in York Township
in Van Wert
County, the daughter of the late W. Ernest and Wilda (Sherman)
Pollock. She married Harold E. Long, who preceded her in death on February 19,
1999.
Mrs. Long was a homemaker and had formerly worked as a cook at Conrad’s Truck Stop near Middle Point and at Borden’s Cheese and National Seal, both in Van Wert. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Middle Point and Rebekah Lodge and was a 4-H advisor, Cub Scout leader and a former presiding judge on the Election Board in Middle Point for many years.
Survivors include six children, Ron (Carol) Long, James (Shirley) Long, Mike (Deborah) Long, Marcia (Max) Friesner and Carolyn Harp, all of Middle Point, and Kent (Karen) Long of Van Wert; four brothers, Murlin “Mike” Pollock of Lakeview, Frank Pollock of Middle Point, Carl (Karen) Pollock of South Carolina and Ernest (Ann) Pollock of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Sue (Harold) Wagner of Delphos; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Six brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mary Ann Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: Trinity Lutheran Church in Middle Point or the Van Wert Manor Activities Fund.

WILLIAM D. KIRACOFE
William D. “Bill” Kiracofe, 79, of Van Wert, died at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born November 13, 1930, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Thomas and Cleo (Rickard) Kiracofe. On April 12, 1952, he married Dora (Myers) Kiracofe, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include four children, Roger (Brenda) Kiracofe, Jill (Michael) Karcher and Dennis (Kerri) Kiracofe, all of Van Wert, and Joyce (Bradley) Mills of Haviland; a sister, Betty (Don) Brennan of New Haven, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A sister, Nancy Kiracofe (in infancy) and two grandchildren also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Tim Burden officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

WAYNE ALLAN LEE
Wayne Allan Lee, 56, of Paulding, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Paulding County Hospital in Paulding.
He was born July 9, 1953, in Paulding, the son of Donald W. Lee, who survives in Briceton, and the late Olive C. (Leeth) Lee. On November 26, 1972, he married Barbara E. (Grindstaff) Lee, who survives in Paulding.
Other survivors include three children, Angela Gamble of Ottoville, Wayne A. (Mariam) Lee Jr. of Chesapeake, Va., and Isaac (Denise) Lee of Briceton; two sisters, Rose (Keith) Wilhelm of Broughton and Brenda (Bill) Reichard of Paulding; 10 grandchildren; and many cousins and friends.
His grandparents, Russel and Mable Lee and Lafie and Olive Leeth, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in Paulding.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
