DAVID L. EDDINS

David L. Eddins, 67, of Van Wert, died at 11:40 p.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born December 23, 1942, in Starkville, Miss., the son of the late Willie and Alice (Bersey) Eddins. He married Ora (James) Eddins, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two children, Troy Eddins of Van Wert and Nichole James of Lima; four brothers, Willie (Patricia) Eddins Jr., Herman Eddins, Curtis Eddins and Gaines (Dina) Moran, all of Van Wert; four sisters, Yevette Moran and Yvon Moran, both of Starkville, Miss., Doris (Theodore) Kelly of Van Wert and Nazola Bayless of Bellefontaine; and one grandson.

A daughter, Lillie James, and two sisters, Delitos Moran and Dessie James, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 2, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 1, at the funeral home.
