MAX LEE KOHN
Max Lee Kohn, 76, of Ohio City, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
He was born May 24, 1934, in Willshire Township, the son of the late Floyd Lee and Gladys Marie (Byer) Kohn. On September 11, 1954, he married Ellen (Stump) Kohn, who survives in Ohio City.
Other survivors include a son, Rick (Melinda) Kohn of Van Wert; two daughters, Nancy (Dannie) Boroff of Ohio City and Karen (Tim) Dull of Van Wert; one brother, Terry (Teresa) Kohn of Hastings, Mich.; two sisters, Billie Hurless of Van Wert and Bonnie (Allen) Gribler of Goodyear, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Janice Kohn of Ohio City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Jerry Dean Kohn and Bobby Joe Kohn, and two sisters, Ganelle Gladine Edsall and Juanita Marcile Parrish, also preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Derek Stemen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals-Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or Ohio City United Methodist Church.

JOHN D. HUMPHREYS
John D. Humphreys, 65, of Gomer, died at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He w
as born November 26, 1944, in Lima, the son
of the late David and Mary Ellen (Renner) Humphreys. On October 22, 2006, he
married Deborah Mihm, who survives in Gomer.
Mr. Humphreys was a plumber/pipefitter and retired from General Dynamics after 14 years of service as a pipefitter. He also worked for Washam Plumbing and Heating for 12 years and for Quality Mechanical Services for two years. He also farmed with his father.
He served in the Ohio National Guard from 1965-1971 and was a member of Gomer United Church of Christ, the Harley Owner Group (HOG), Eagles Aerie 471 in Delphos and the Knights of Columbus Loyalty Club 2661.
He enjoyed motorcycle riding, was a Harley Davidson motorcycle owner and avid racecar fan, both NASCAR and sprint racing. He was a regular at Limaland Race Track and enjoyed Ohio State football and basketball. He was a loving and kind husband, dad and friend and loved living in this area.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Aaron D. Humphreys of Lima; two stepsons, Dustin W. Miller of Columbus and Seth W. (Stephanie Steinke) Fulton of Lima; a stepdaughter, Audrey L. (Tyler Leach) Fulton of Elida; one sister, Nancy (Thomas) Sakemiller of Delphos; a grandson, Tyler J. Leach; two nephews, Scott (Lisa) Sakemiller and Ryan (Samantha) Sakemiller, and a special friend, Rogan the cat.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos. Burial will be in Carmen Cemetery in Gomer, with graveside military rites performed by the Delphos Veterans Council.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, and an hour prior to services Wednesday at the funeral home.
