SARAH PAULINE COWGILL

Sarah Pauline Cowgill, 94, formerly of Ohio City, died at 4:15 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2010, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born October 2, 1915, in Van Wert County, the daughter of the late David and Mabel (Strothers) Evans. On April 21, 1934, she married Leonard Emery “Jack” Cowgill, who preceded her in death on September 20, 1992.

Survivors include a son, Donald (Connie) Cowgill of Findlay; a son-in-law, Robert “Bob” Brand of Indianapolis, Ind.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandson.

 A daughter, Barbara Lee Brand; two brothers, Rowland and Raymond Evans; and two sisters, Berniece Devine and Madelyn Haw, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Derek Stemen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 9, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
