Wanda Olive (Ries) Prior, 93, died Monday, March 22, 2010.

She was born December 3, 1916, in York Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late William Henry and Hazel Iona (Farling) Ries. She was a lifelong resident of Van Wert County until 1993, when she moved to Columbus to care for her husband of 55 years, Henry Prior, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include two children, Monda Sue Prior of Dennis, Mass., and Dr. Gregory R. (Elizabeth) Prior of Dunedin, Fla.; two sisters, Ruth Reed of Grover Hill and Margaret Springer of Sun City Center, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Janice (Prior) Dugan; a son-in-law, Charles Dugan; three brothers, William Ries Sr., Wayne Ries and Paul Edward Ries; a nephew, Steve Ries; a niece, Marjorie (Ries) Barber; a brother-in-law, Homer J. Reed; and two sisters-in-law, Rita (Stahl) Ries and Lola Ries, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, at First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert.
