SMITH
Hannah “Anne” Smith, 95, of Van Wert, died at 1:10 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born October 5, 1914, in Marysville, the
daughter of the late Pearl and Julie (Violet) Roley. She married Dr. Harold C.
Smith, who preceded her in death on August 14, 2007.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and worked with her husband in his office. She was also an office manager for Dr. Holtzapple in Columbus for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert and its Dorcas Group. She had been accompanist for the Saltzgaber Singers, composed of singers with excellent voices from the Van Wert area and directed by Larry Schaufelberger, and also sang in the First UM church choir. She was honored for her 50 years of service as an officer of the Van Wert County Community Concert Association, was a former member of the Twig IV group of Van Wert County Hospital, Evergreen Garden Club in Van Wert, the Van Wert YWCA and Wassenberg Art Center Association.
Survivors include two children, Deborah (William) Kelly of Van Wert and Dr. John A. (Deborah) Lloyd, D.D., of Clearwater, Fla.; four grandchildren, Katherine (Cody) Bowersock and Thomas Kelly of Van Wert, and Elizabeth A. Iovino and J. Andrew Lloyd of Clearwater, Fla.; and a stepgrandson, Michael Kelly of Wilmington, N.C.
Three brothers, Dr. Malcolm Roley, Richard Roley and Robert Roley, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Monday, March 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller and John A. Lloyd, D.D., officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials: First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.

CROUCH
Carl H. “Scrappy” Crouch, 85, of Van Wert, died at 2 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.
He was born July 26, 1924, in Rockford, the son of the late Ray and Jennie (Shaffer) Crouch. On March 21, 1959, he married Barbara L. (Stemen) Crouch, who preceded him in death on March 11, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane (Ralph Jr.) Kreischer of Van Wert; four brothers, Dale (Eileen) Crouch and John (Carolyn) Crouch, both of Tipp City, Doyt (Carolyn) Crouch of Rockford and Jack Crouch of Newark; two sisters, Marilyn Roebuck of Lima and Judy Cummins of Columbus; three grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Pastor Paul Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the funeral home.
