SWINSON

Samuel Swinson, 71, of Van Wert, died at 9:08 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 13, 1937, in Maple Hill, N.C., the son of the late Ederd and Ardell (Jenkins) Swinson. On November 28, 1969, he married Lillian (Smith) Swinson, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include three daughters, Shirley Jewell, Joanne Swinson, and Brenda (Charles Jr.) Howe, all of Van Wert; three brothers; six sisters; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A daughter, Sylvia Swinson; one brother; a sister; and two grandchildren, also preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at The Apostolic Church in Van Wert, with the Rev. Robert Franke officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Thursday at the church.
