DAVID E. GERMANN

David E. Germann, 69, of Ohio City, died at 7:02 a.m. Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born March 26, 1941, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Francis O. and Evelyn P. (Drake) Germann. On May 28, 1966, he married Linda L. (Strunkenberg) Germann, who survives in Ohio City.

Other survivors include five children, Alan W. Germann of Ohio City, Duane E. (Jennifer) Germann of San Antonio, Texas, Brett P. (Deb) Germann of Middle Point, Jeffrey D. Germann of Van Wert, and Lorraine I. “Lori” (Bill) Collins, no address listed; two brothers, Paul Germann and Bob (Carol) Germann, both of Ohio City; a sister, Kathy Germann of Ohio City; and nine grandchildren.

A brother, James E. Germann, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, May 17, at Gearhart, Mack & Jurczyk Funeral Home in Convoy, with the Rev. Timothy Sims officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in rural Van Wert County, with graveside military rites performed by the combined honors units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from noon-3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: The church or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

CARRIE GENEVA COTTERMAN

Carrie Geneva Cotterman, 79, of Paulding, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

She was born April 7, 1931, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Fredrick P. and Bessie Mae (Leslie) Hartwig. On June 5, 1949, she married Richard L. “Bud” Cotterman, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Randy (Crys) Cotterman of Paulding and Gary Cotterman of Murray, Ky.; a daughter, Elaine (Roger) Sierer of Paulding; two brothers, Fred (Louise) Hartwig of Van Wert and Ray (Wilma) Hartwig f Haviland; four sisters, Mary Gray and Florence Sanderson, both of Paulding, Deanna (Robert) Adkins of Oakhill and Frieda  (Ralph) Hammons of Cloverdale; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Two brothers, Paul and Richard Hartwig; a sister, Jennie Mae Green; and two granddaughters, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, at St. John Lutheran Church in Briceton. Burial will be in Hedges Cemetery in Jackson Township, Paulding County.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding and an hour prior to services Monday at the church.
