EUAL RICHARD NEAL

Eual Richard “Red” Neal, 97, of Venedocia, died at 5:20 a.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born December 31, 1912, in Thompsonville, Ill., the son of the late Aaron and Nobia (Otterson) Neal. On June 29, 1958, he married Rosy E. (Bowman) Neal, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons from a previous marriage, Howard Neal of Michigan and Curtis Neal of Washington; three daughters, Nila (Eric) Dull of Venedocia, Tina Neal of North Lewisburg, and Sandra Gurtner of Botkins; a brother, Rosco Neal of Benton, Ill.; one sister, Dorothy Biegler of Evansville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Jim, Harvey and Oakly Neal; and a sister, Goldie Braden, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home in Rockford, with the Rev. Robert Frake and the Rev. Eric Dull officiating. Burial will be in Neal Cemetery in Logan, Ill., at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 19.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Monday, May 17, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
