ELOISE A. WILSON

Eloise A. Wilson, 79, of Van Wert, died at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.

She was born February 16, 1931, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of the late Lawrence A. and Vada (Lewis) Adam. On June 23, 1950, she married G. Dale Wilson, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1994.

Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert. She was a member and past regent of the Isaac Van Wart Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the Van Wert Woman’s Club, was a strong support of the arts and the Van Wert Peony Festival Pageant and was grand marshal of the 2000 Peony Festival Grand Parade.

Survivors include four children, Christopher (Jody) Wilson, Martha (Louis) Balyeat and Linda Baum, all of Van Wert, and Scott (Beth) Wilson of Fort Wayne, Ind.; a sister, Carol Bowers of Oxford; seven grandchildren, Jen Wilson and Katherine Wilson, both of Fort Wayne, Mary (Matt) Ogdahl of Coopersville, Mich., Robert and Joseph Balyeat of Van Wert, Jeremy (Maggie) Baum of Dublin and Nicholas Baum of Mundelein, Ill.; and three great-grandchildren, Pierce Harvey Disher, Isla Baum and Myles Ogdahl.

Three brothers, Edwin L. Adam and two brothers in infancy, and a brother-in-law, George Bowers, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Isaac Van Wart Chapter-DAR, First United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
