BRENT A. BURKHEIMER
Brent A. Burkheimer, 39, of Van Wert, died at
8:04 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at Van Wert County Hospital in Van Wert.
He was born November 5, 1970, in Van Wert, the son of Patricia E. (McCune) Burkheimer, who survives in Van Wert, and the late Cloyd M. “Stoney” Burkheimer Jr.
Mr. Burkheimer was an industrial arts teacher for Jay County Schools in Portland, Ind., and had also been a substitute teacher in the Elida and Lima City school districts.
He was a 1989 graduate of Van Wert High School and a 1993 graduate of Ohio Northern University in Ada, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial technology. He also earned a master’s degree in public administration in 1999 from Bowling Green State University.
Mr. Burkheimer had formerly coached football at Lima Senior High School, Bluffton University and Defiance College and was the former head football coach at Paulding High School. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
In addition to his mother, survivors include three brothers, Jim S. (Ava) Burkheimer and Josh M. Burkheimer, both of Van Wert, and Chris C. Burkheimer of Orlando, Fla.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 30, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with Rev. Paul Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Kossuth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, May 29, at the funeral home.

BEATRICE M. DUNN
Beatrice M. “Bea” Dunn, 90, of Van Wert, died at 1:02 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 21010, at her residence.
She was born February 19, 1920, in Oak Hill, the daughter of the late James H. and Eithel (Chaney) Carter. In 1947, she married Ervin R. Dunn, who preceded her in death on August 4, 1986.
Survivors include three children, Terry Dunn, Cathy Dunn and Richard (Sandy) Caldwell, all of Van Wert; a sister, Daisy Taylor of Van Wert; 21 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Three sons, Robert, Larry and Carl Dunn; a daughter, Bonnie Gillespie; and three brothers, Floyd, Arthur and Willard Carter, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Neil Hammons officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 28, at the funeral home.

CECELIA H. GERDEMAN
Cecelia H. Gerdeman, 86, of Delphos, died at 7:49 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born May 21, 1924, in Chickasaw, the daughter of the late Lorenz and Elizabeth (Bruggeman) Droesch. On April 15, 1961, she married Donald Gerdeman, who survives in Delphos.
Other survivors include two daughters, Pamela (Steve) Jarrett of Grove City and Kimberly Gerdeman of Godley, Texas; two sisters, Rosanna Mox and Barbara (Don) Heitz, both of Delphos; three sisters-in-law, Luella Droesch, Mary Droesch and Rosemary Droesch; and two grandchildren.
Three brothers, Bernard, Anthony and Andrew Droesch; four stepsiblings, Camillus Droesch, Joseph Droesch, Matilda Rutchilling and Monica Schoen, also preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Delphos, with Father Jacob Gordon officiating.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Friday, May 28, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, where a parish wake will be held at 7:30 that evening.
