MAHLON E. THOMPSON

Mahlon E. Thompson, 91, of Grover Hill, died at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

He was born October 19, 1918, in Van Wert County, the son of the late Alfred E. and Bessie (Adams) Thompson. He first married Antha Rose (McClure) Thompson, who preceded him in death in 1955. In 1957, he married Helen (Sink) Noggle Thompson, who died in 2006.

Survivors include four sons, Jerry (Vivian) Thompson of Grover Hill, Vic (Ellen) Thompson of Sun City, Fla., and George (Sue) Noggle and Eddie (Ruth) Noggle, both of Van Wert; three daughters, Scheryl Reidenbach of Lima, Shelbyan (Larry) Tribolet and Gayle Noggle of Van Wert; a stepsister, Rosalee Sholl of Oakwood; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Randy Thompson; one brother, Vernon Thompson; and two sisters, Ruth Priddy and Manota Edwards, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller and Rev. Mark McKay officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 7, at the funeral home.
