BILL A. BRESSLER SR.

Bill A. Bressler Sr., 71, of Ohio City, died at 7:24 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born July 14, 1938, in Van Wert, the son of the late Raymond E. Bressler and Mary J. (Wallace) Parks. On May 9, 1960, he married Betty L. (Hartman) Bressler, who survives in Ohio City.

Mr. Bressler was retired from Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert ad was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

In addition to his wife, survivors include three children, Tina (Tim) Shugart of Van Wert, Bill (Michelle) Bressler Jr. of Decatur, Ind., and Raymond Bressler of Ohio City; a brother, Robert W. Bressler of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandchildren, Tiffany Strick and Joshua Strick; two great-grandchildren, Gavin Carter and Storm Carter; and several stepgrandchildren.

Three brothers, Ray Bressler Jr., Richard E. Bressler and Franklin Delano Bressler; and two grandchildren, Megan Ann and Melissa Sue Strick, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center or Ohio City Fire and EMS Department.
