COLLINS

Vivian Nadine Collins, 72, of Convoy, died at 8:50 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Vancrest of Convoy.

She was born September 5, 1937, in Stinesville, Ind., the daughter of the late Roy and Daisy C. (Swafford) Smith. On May 27, 2000, she married Loren “Woodie” Collins, who survives in Convoy. She was also married to Gordon Van Metre, who preceded her in death.

Other survivors include a daughter, Connie Davis of Marion, Ind.; one stepson, Jeff (Mary) Collins of Van Wert; a brother, Charles (Marge) Smith of Winterhaven, Fla.; two sisters, Thelma (Charles) Roatof Havana, Ill., and Nila Stagner of Benton, Ariz.; a grandson; one stepgranddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 13, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Dr. Jody Harr officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 12, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: American Cancer Society or First United Brethren in Christ Church in Van Wert.
