EMERICK

Robert B. Emerick, 73, of Van Wert, died at 3:38 a.m. Sunday, October 4, 2009, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

He was born October 2, 1936, in Ohio City, the son of the late Doyt Philip and Maude M. (Brubaker) Emerick. On December 4, 1971, he married Sherrill K. (Holtsberry) Emerick, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include a son, Gregory A. (Madeline) Emerick of Convoy; one daughter, Londa Kay (Gerald B. “Jerry” Jr.) Kraft of Delphos; a brother, Arnold D. “Pood” (Dixie) Emerick of Ohio City; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A sister, Anna Mary Clouse, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 7, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with the Rev. Dr. Timothy Burden and Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military rites performed by Harvey Lewis American Legion Post 346 of Ohio City.

The family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, at the funeral home.
