BROWN

Gale Brown, 77, of Delphos, died at 5:15 p.m. Monday, October 5, 2009, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.

He was born May 9, 1932, in Middle Point, the son of the late Allen and Alta (Long) Brown. On August 10, 1956, he married Donna Lee (Marshall) Brown, who preceded him in death. He then married Carolyn S. Kershner on December 14, 2001, and she survives in Delphos.

Other survivors include three daughters, Laurie Ann Chowayou of Dayton, Jeannette (James) Thompson of Harrison and Jeannine (Matthew Baumer) Brown of Cincinnati; three brothers, Harold (Betty) Brown of Delphos, Roger (Ellen) Brown of Middle Point and Tom (Sandy) Brown of Grover Hill; seven sisters, Mary Paxson and Susan Frances, both of Van Wert, Betty Booher of Grover Hill, Ruby (Joe) Del Pico and Nancy Falke, both of Springfield, Marcille (Bill) Fruchey of Killeen Texas, and Lucille Granger of Troy; and 12 grandchildren.

A son, Russell Dale Brown; four brothers, Lawrence Brown, Dennis Roby, Carl Brown and Richard Brown; and two sisters, Rose Sherman and Peg Anderson, also preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 9, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with the Rev. Harry Tolhurst officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos, with graveside military rites performed by members of the Delphos Veterans Council.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 8, at the funeral home.

CALLAHAN

Kenneth M. Callahan, 50, of Paulding, died Monday, October 5, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Defiance.

He was born June 25, 1959, in Fort Campbell, Ky., the son of the late Joseph and Tawhala (Wishon) Callahan. On August 29, 1985, he married Sandra L. (Love) Callahan, who survives in Paulding.

Other survivors include his stepmother, Betty Callahan; two children, Christina and Timothy Callahan; two brothers, Joe and Kevin Callahan; four sisters, Donna, Pat, and Kelly Callahan and Terrie Grove; and five grandchildren, Alex, Jasmine, Tabathe, Lizzie and Ashley.

A brother, Brian Callahan, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, October 9, at the Paulding Family Worship Center in Paulding, with the Rev. Monte Moore officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to services Friday at the church.
