SUTTON

Ralph E. Sutton, 92, of Grover Hill, died at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.

He was born March 14, 1917, in Paulding County, the son of the late John and Stella L. (Good) Sutton. On September 27, 1940, he married Edna W. (Blythe) Sutton, who preceded him in death on February 8, 2004.

Survivors include three children, Jon Ralph (Karen) Sutton of Clyde, Brent (Carole) Sutton of Amelia Court House, Va., and Vicki (Mikel) Brown of Grover Hill; 11 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 21 great-grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

A son-in-law, Bill Wyatt; two brothers, Guy and Reynold Sutton, who died in infancy; and two sisters, Lavona Eaton and Thelma Sutton, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 26, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Stuart Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in Middle Creek Cemetery in Grover Hill.

The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Friday, September 25, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Paulding Area Visiting Nurses or Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Van Wert.
