SHOOK
Russel H. Shook, 80, of Latty, died Saturday, September 26, 2009, after a battle with cancer.
He was born October 14, 1928, in Van Wert, the son of the late Harvey and Bernice (Weyer) Shook. On August 20, 1949, he married Betty (Toker) Shook, who survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Nancy Shook of Latty, Cathy (Paul) Hirschy of Twin City, Ga., and Debra Basso of Edwardsburg, Mich.; a son, Mark (Peggy) Shook of Antwerp; five sisters, Lulu Ayers, Kathryn Hoverman, and Mary Alice (Charles) Sanders, all of Van Wert, Rose Elaine (Charles) Lichtenberger of Wren and Jacqueline (John) Hunter of Glenmore; one brother, Robert (Nancy) Shook of Willshire; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home in Van Wert. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery near Middle Point.
The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Monday, September 28, at the funeral home.
PARSON
Lucille M. “Lucy” Parson, 68, of Defiance, died Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Defiance Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 13, 1941, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late George L. and Iva R. (Robeson) Head.
Survivors include two daughters, Tina Lett of Bryan and L. Pebbles (Jim) Westfall of Liberty Center; two brothers, Ralph (Lois) Head of Oakwood and David Head of Paulding; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Harvey and Lester Head, also preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding, with the Rev. Ben Lowell officiating. Burial will be in Hedges Cemetery in Broughton.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
