    The first day of school at St. Mary of the Assumption School by all accounts was successful. Students and parents were greeted by the teachers as they entered the classrooms. The day began with the morning opening in the hallway singing "This is the Day the Lord has Made" and asking God's blessing. All classes, except Kindergarten, then attended Mass. This year all students eat together and share the noon recess -- all part of the family atmosphere we enjoy here at St. Mary's. It was good to see the returning students as well as the new students -- they are the reason St. Mary's exists!
